課程目標與說明
The
globalization today furthers postcolonialism by reshaping identity, for it
connects disparate cultural influences, further “deterritorialize[s] the process
of imagining communities,” and therefore represents “a complex transnational construction
of imaginary landscapes.” This course will
first impart
a cultural identity of theories on globalization, postmodernism, and the
applications of the contemporary study of transnationalism, thereby
illuminating a set of broader questions on the formation of transnationalism,
challenging issues of self-identity and institutionalization and transforming
them beyond conventional political and territorial definitions. The course will then center on the
conceptualization of “neoliberalism” and its critiques through a relatively
thorough readings in the development of neoliberal reforms,
global capitalism, and governmental management. Drawing on the theories of globalization, this
course attempts to depict how the contemporary anthropological concerns
encounter with the implications of neoliberal culture.
研讀方法
本課程規劃14冊國外原文為研讀進度，就讀本內容和延伸議題於課堂間相互討論。本課程要求同學（含修課與旁聽）於課前研讀指定原文讀本，在課堂上分享閱讀心得，並適時評論該週研讀主題，藉此與其他同學們和授課教師對話或論辯。本研讀課程設有專門教學網站，並委由本課程助理維護，每週定期更新網頁內容，含當週導讀文本、討論主題、相關閱讀資料。課程結束後一週內，整理該週課程提問與討論紀錄並公告上傳，以開放學術資訊意見交流。
教學評量
1. 每位同學每週上課前繳交一頁當週讀本心得報告；同時每位同學自行負責本學期教材的導讀若干次。每次導讀不超過20分鐘（即約4,000-5,000字）。以書寫方式導讀。（暫定如此，看情況而定。）
2. 期末報告由學生自行決定，題目以自行「出題」方式於第11週上傳課程網頁繳交，並於隔週與其他同學共同討論。書寫報告則在第16周繳交。期末報告8-10頁。作業請勿遲交。
